Turner has ranked first, first, and second in the NFL in carries over his last four full seasons. "Might be a little more passing than normal, than what Falcons fans are used to," Turner said. Now 30 years old, Turner will be a player to avoid in 2012 fantasy football drafts.

Since then, we've learned that OC Dirk Koetter plans to shift toward a more pass-heavy offense. We had already planned to steer clear of the one-dimensional Turner after a second consecutive late-season fade. This is another reminder that the 30-year-old isn't worthy of his early third-round ADP.

A tidbit out of the ATL....Rumors of Turner looking "heavy" at mini camp surfaced this week. Turner denies claims says "he's the same weight as he's always been"...Turner can't afford to be slower and heavier.

After turning 30 in February and showing signs of wear in each of the last two seasons, we'd be stunned if he gets that many touches again. "We discussed the possibility of making sure that we monitor his reps so that he can stay strong for us through the season and into December," Brown said. "We feel very good about Jason Snelling and Jacquizz (Rodgers), too."

Over the final six games of last season, Turner averaged just 3.24 yards per carry and then turned 30 years old in February. Through two preseason games, he's rushed eight times for 14 yards (1.75 YPC) and looked out of place in the Falcons' new up-tempo offense. Turner is going to be severely overdrafted in fantasy leagues.

Michael is our No. 1 back and he’s going to get his touches just like the other guys. It’s going to be based on how people try to defend us." Turner could still push for double-digit touchdowns if he gets some good luck in terms of goal-line chances, but his carries and yardage will be way down.

</td></tr><tr><td class="vaLink">Turner has looked just as slow-footed through two preseason games as he did over the final month and a half of the 2011 season. The coaching staff's reluctance to go with Turner in a pair of fourth-and-inches attempts during the playoffs also suggests a loss of power. Evaluators with extensive scouting backgrounds tell Breer that one sign of a power back slowing down is "a decreased ability or willingness to 'get the extra yard' through fight and leg-drive." All signs continue to point to a diminished role for Turner in Atlanta's newly aggressive uptempo attack.

The Falcons wrapped up a 27-21 win over the Broncos shortly after midnight. Around 5 a.m., Turner was booked and was subsequently released on $2,179 bond two hours later. The rapidly declining early-down plodder is not in danger of a league-imposed suspension, but the arrest sends more bad vibes down his career path. Through two games, Turner has predictably appeared lost in the Falcons' new up-tempo offense while averaging 2.6 yards per carry.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that Michael Turner (elbow, questionable) will play versus the Panthers this week.

Turner put in a full slate of limited practices this week, so it's no surprise that he's going to be out there. Although he's played less than 40 percent of the snaps in each of the past two weeks, Turner has kept his flickering light of fantasy value alive by finding the end zone. Jacquizz Rodgers' role should do nothing but increase as Atlanta moves forward. Turner is Rotoworld's No. 30 running back for Week 14.
